THE LITTLE HOUSES OF HONFLEUR
The charm of Honfleur is its old houses, built around the Vieux-Bassin. The old stones, the timbered walls, the slate or tile roofs have made the reputation of the two historical districts where you should stay: the Sainte-Catherine district and the Saint-Léonard district. We always advise against staying directly on the Vieux-Bassin, which is noisier. Honfleur is a small town where everything is within walking distance and where you can leave your car in front of your house, which is a great luxury when you are on a weekend or on vacation.

THE VIEUX-BASSIN
Undeniably the most touristic district of Honfleur, but also the most animated. Perfect for a drink, to walk, to stroll among the sailing boats. However,

THE SAINT-LÉONARD DISTRICT
Less known than Sainte-Catherine, the Saint-Léonard district is however just as old. We find
houses with wood paneling and streets full of charm
, a little wider to circulate which is not negligible in this medieval city.

THE HOUSES OF PIERRE AND VALÉRIE
Lovers of Honfleur, where we spent our weekends and vacations, we first chose to renovate a small angler’s house in the Sainte-Catherine district. It is perfect for two to four people and has all the modern comfort. It is the house of Pierre and Valérie Sainte-Catherine. Then we were seduced by a second house, just as old, in the Saint-Léonard district that we also completely renovated. It is the Pierre and Valérie Saint-Léonard house. They are open to you so that you can find your dream house for a romantic weekend or a family vacation.

THE SUNDAY AND EVEN SATURDAY PAINTER
Painters, particularly sensitive to the light of the estuary, have been visiting Honfleur since the end of the 18th century. However, it was at the beginning of the 19th century that they went there in greater numbers, following in the footsteps of talented English watercolorists and landscape artists. This was the beginning of outdoor painting and therefore of natural light.Honfleur became an exceptional artistic center: Eugène Boudin, whose influence was decisive on the Impressionist movement, gathered around him many artist friends, including Jongkind, Monet and the poet Charles Baudelaire. An air of vacation AT 1H30 FROM PARIS
THE WALK ON THE HARBOUR
Honfleur was one of the few cities in Normandy spared by the bombings of the Second World War. Its small harbor (the Vieux-Bassin) lined with old houses has been miraculously preserved as well as its picturesque churches. Today, the pleasure boats, the ice cream vendors and the restaurants of the port give this destination a little air of Saint-Tropez Normand. All proportions reserved.
